March 2, 2017

Well look at this, we are finally in March! you know what that means... SPRING IS COMING. That makes me feel excited about everything!

I thought I'd share this lovely bunch of words I came across this morning...

"If you can make someone happy, do it. The world needs more of that."

Have a happy March everyone!

It's  that time again! Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead 1 hour this Sunday!

Hair Tip:

March 15, 2017

Do you have brittle hair and a dry scalp? Well here is a helpful tip! Coconut oil is a great hair and scalp moisturizer. The oil absorbs easily into the hair shaft plumping up the hair and filling the dry damaged hair strand. Creating moisturized and smooth, healthy feeling Hair. You want to avoid putting the oil on dry hair, as it acts as a barrier. The point is to keep hydration in. Using coconut oil on damp hair will lock the moisture into the hair.

Treatment Directions:

Spritz hair with water just enough so it is damp. Add a teaspoon of virgin coconut oil for short hair and a tablespoon for long hair or as needed. Massage oil into scalp and into the ends. Allow to sit for an hour and then shampoo out. You may need 2 shampoos and remember to follow up with conditioner. Conditioner seals the cuticle keeping the benefits of the treatment in. Do this 2 times a month for best results.

Who remembers these? Perms have sure come a long way!

Perms have a bad reputation for being too frizzy, dry & damaging on the hair. So people shy away from them.  When a perm is done correctly you can have a beautiful head of hair full of body and a style that lasts all week long! As a stylist who works with seniors and has many perms under my belt, I encourage those with hair in a healthy state to think about what perms have to offer.

If you have fine, limp hair, a body perm is perfect for giving the hair that extra bounce.

Do you have weekly wash and sets that tend to lose style after a few days, leaving you with a lifeless style until your next appointment? A perm is a great way to give your style that extra holding power.

Perms are a great addition for seniors who don't have the time or the ability to make an appointment every week.

Now with that in mind, perms are not for everyone. They do take some effort if you style your hair yourself. There are many factors at play that must be taken into consideration while discussing perm options to create a beautiful perm full of life that is designed for your lifestyle.

Ask about a perm service today!

Happy Monday! - Chelsea

Who is enjoying this beautiful weather?

Have you been interested in booking a mobile hair service for you or your loved one? But they are bedridden and your not quite sure how this would work? Well worry no more! Bedridden clients can have beautiful, clean hair too! No more dry shampoos, hot caps or washcloth shampoos.

Shampooing bedridden clients:

If you or a loved one are bedridden, The Travelling Hair Artist uses a wonderful inflatable basin that is comfortable. Your hair and scalp will be rinsed with water, shampooed, conditioned and completely rinsed of all shampooing residues!

How does it work?:

The client will lay flat in bed and the shampoo basin will slip right under the clients head. There's even a pillow for added comfort.  There is a drain to rid of the excess soapy water and that drains into a bucket.

Can all hair services be performed on bedridden clients? Absolutely! Haircuts, wash & styles even colours and perms. This handy portable basin makes it comfortable for all clients to receive outstanding hair services in homes and even hospital beds!

I am proud to offer this to all the lovely clients out their who just a need a little extra care!

For mobile clients , there are other comfortable methods for your locks!

Have a happy Thursday everyone!

Happy July! Summer is in full swing and I couldn't be happier. Who else feels amazing this time of year?

Recently I took a walk over to Trillium Park (Ontario Place). This is where this photo was taken. This park officially opened up to the public in June. What a beautiful park torontonians can enjoy!  We were able to take in gorgeous views of the lake and the Toronto skyline. What a great addition to summer 2017.  If you get a chance, check it out and enjoy the summer breeze!

Happy Friday the 13th & we have a full moon to top it off! 🌕

I hope everyone had a great summer.. we had just about perfect weather. However, I am ready for the cozy fall atmosphere (just no white stuff please!)

I have been a little MIA lately. Working on my little side project The Little Artisan! In my spare time I like to craft & create handmade items.  I make an amazing natural hand poured soy candle that smells FANTASTIC! (The photo beside this post is my pumpkin pie candle!) I also make neat little gifts such as goats milk soaps, decorative mugs and wineglasses, and whatever else my little heart wants to do. It’s fun & I really enjoy it. I guess that’S the creative in me being a hairstylist and all! Anywho you’re more than welcome to check it out. These items make great little gifts. See my Etsy shop at

I am back to taking new clients - just remember appointments are reserved for my lovely seniors 🙂

I hope everyone has a wonderful autumn 🍂 and don’t forget to pre book your holiday appointments!

Thank you all for the support.

I have the best clients!
